Paweł Barczyk

Systems engineer · VR & language technology

Paweł Barczyk graduated in Applied Computer Science from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, specialising in Information Systems Design. In 2023, he was awarded second place in the competition for the best graduate of the University's Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. For many years, he was a member of the KN Robocik Robotics Student Research Group, where he contributed to a project involving the simulation of underwater drones.

Professionally, he is affiliated with the CLARIN-PL research consortium at Wrocław University of Science and Technology, where he works on developing infrastructure and integrating systems for natural language processing and large language model applications. His main areas of interest include virtual reality, knowledge engineering, and information systems integration.

In his degree projects, he explored how technology could encourage people to become more physically active. His research examined the use of virtual reality and gamification mechanisms to promote physical activity — transforming physical exertion into an engaging experience that people are motivated to return to, both in rehabilitation and in everyday life.
